Kelsey Schissel

Kelsey grew up the daughter of a Maker. Her father is a master woodworker and blacksmith. With this unique perspective she knew she could craft her life, so when she touched clay for the first time at age 11, she was hooked. The inspiration for clay reached out and grabbed hold of her soul and she knew from that point on she wanted to be a ceramic artist. Kelsey received a BFA in Ceramics from UNC-Asheville and set up her studio in 2004. In 2009 Kelsey started Plays in Mud Pottery. In 2021 Kelsey moved her studio to a new space and opened up a retail gallery.
