There’s something magical about watching an artist capture the beauty of Door County right before your eyes. This August, we’re bringing that experience back to Plum Bottom Gallery for our Annual Plein Air Day!

Join us on Saturday, August 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at our Plum Bottom Road location for an afternoon celebrating art, creativity, and the beautiful Door County landscape.

Watch Door County Come to Life on Canvas

We’re excited to welcome three talented artists for this year’s Plein Air Day: Mark Price, Keary Kauzter, and Stephanie Lord.

Throughout the afternoon, you’ll have the opportunity to watch these artists work outdoors as they interpret the surrounding landscape through their own unique styles and perspectives. Plein air painting is all about capturing a scene as it exists in the moment—the light, colors, atmosphere, and character of the landscape—and there’s no better place to experience it than Door County.

Stop by to watch the artists paint, chat with them about their creative process, and see how a blank canvas transforms into an original work of art.

Whether you’re an avid art collector, a longtime Plum Bottom Gallery visitor, or simply someone who loves the beauty of Door County, Plein Air Day is a wonderful way to spend a summer afternoon.

Robert Nilsson Returns to Plum Bottom

As if live painting weren’t enough, we’re also thrilled to welcome back Robert Nilsson for a special jewelry trunk show!

Robert was a crowd favorite at Plum Bottom Gallery several years ago, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him return. He is relaunching his collection of sterling silver and gemstone jewelry, and he’ll be here in person to share his newest designs.

If you remember Robert’s jewelry from his previous time at Plum Bottom, this is the perfect opportunity to see what he’s been creating. And if you’re discovering his work for the first time, we think you’ll quickly understand why he was such a favorite with our customers.

His combination of sterling silver and colorful gemstones makes each piece distinctive, wearable, and full of personality. With Robert here for the trunk show, guests will have the opportunity to explore his collection and learn more about the inspiration and craftsmanship behind his jewelry.
