Lisa Cottone considers herself a “scientific artist”, merging the medium of crochet and her experience in a neuro-imaging laboratory where she saw stunning glimpses of brain networks. After stumbling on the opportunity to learn metal crocheting from skilled artisan, Joan Dulla, she found she could weave together the two parts of her life: science and art; rationalism and creativity; and a familiar technique with new materials.
