Carol Pflughoeft
Carol Pflughoeft’s work is inspired by an appreciation of nature and a keen awareness of the complexity it contains.
Intriguing geometric patterns called fractals are commonly found in nature and share the characteristics of repetition, size change and self-similarity. Complex fractal images can also be created on a computer by manipulating mathematical formulas within special software.
In 2005, Carol combined her fascination with digital fractal creation with her interest in photography. Years of Photoshop experience led her to explore artistic images that blend multiple layers of her original fractals with her photographs.
Carol’s creations offer the viewer a new way of looking at the familiar and an invitation to connect with our complex and beautiful world.
