About the Artist
Krista Carlsen
Krista Carlsen is an abstract artist from Illinois. Growing up she was always artsy and creative in everything she put her hand to. In 2014, she started painting on canvas for her home. She shared some of her work on social media and it began to sell. She branched out into her community who were in the interior decorating businesses and the Chamber of Commerce purchased some of her paintings still adorn the walls in the entryway and conference room. She discovered Plum Bottom Gallery in 2017. Since she first started putting paint on canvas, she has grown as an artist and continues to educate herself in all art mediums. She adores Door County with its "heavenly skies, emerald water, treasures, and wonders."
Krista takes her passion for painting and creating to a whole new level. She incorporates textures, color, and waxes to create incredible one-of-a-kind pieces. Her work has a tangible emotion present that brings peace to the soul. Creating is therapy for her. She gets completely lost and immersed in her work. She "puts it all on the canvas" as she works through the piece and trusts the process. She cares for and adores each piece and wants each piece to be stunning, special, and unique.
