Buttermilk Hill
Deborah Stull-Kinsley
Deborah's artwork is inspired by her sense of place. Her spirit is deeply grounded in the agrarian roots of her grandparents and in her own experience years ago of raising sheep, goats, and a llama on a prairie farm. Today in her nothern Wisconsin studio, the importance of place is reflected in the range of her watercolor paintings - scenic rural spaces, towering forests, blue water, and the occassional rogue sheep!

About the Artist
Deborah Stull-Kinsley
Whether setting up her easel outdoors or in her northern Wisconsin studio, Deborah is influenced by a strong sense of place. This importance of place fuels her passion for creating art and inspires her watercolors - from capturing beautiful farms and prairie landscapes to the picturesque lakes and freshwater seas of the Northwoods.
A lifelong learner, Stull-Kinsley has pursued a variety of art including acrylic painting, pottery, loom weaving and fiber arts. Several years ago, a weekend of "playing with color" in a watercolor class became a defining moment for her, and she continues to delight in this medium. For her, each painting holds an element of joy in the fusing and interacting of the colors.
