Carried By The Breeze VI

Carried By The Breeze VI

Cindy Lesperance

Cindy Lesperance loves spending time in nature, traveling, and learning about other cultures. Always aware of color, pattern, and texture, these life experiences are inspiration for her work. The inherent warmth and luminosity of encaustic, combined with the tactile effect achieved with her signature drop method of applying the paint, combine to engage those who encounter it. Each piece becomes a testament to the interplay of color, echoing the vibrant palette of a sunset, the nuanced tones of a rain storm, or the rich hues of a bustling market-a celebration of nature’s palette and the indelible imprints left by my travels.

Quote from the artist: "The Carried by the Breeze collection celebrates the beauty found in nature and the autumn season, where each leaf tells a unique story of life and change. Through a combination of textures and rich colors, each piece captures the fleeting beauty of the natural world, carried on the breeze of time."

About the Artist

Cindy Lesperance

Cindy Lesperance

Cindy Lesperance is an award-winning artists based in Chicago, where she operates her private studio in the northwest suburbs.

Cindy loves spending time in nature, traveling, and learning about other cultures. Always aware of color, pattern, and texture, these life experiences are inspiration for her work. Exploring various mediums over the years, including mixed media, printmaking, photography, and cold wax, Lesperance has found her artistic home in encaustic, a fusion of beeswax, Damar resin, and pigment. It captivates me with its translucency and the limitless dimensionality that can be achieved with it. Very early in her exploration of encaustic (2013), she developed a signature method of applying minute droplets of medium to the surface of the painting. This technique creates a tactile texture that engages those who encounter it and makes her work instantly recognizable. Cindy's artist journey continues to be an exploration of this technique, a realm where she pushes the boundaries and uncovers new possibilities. Each piece is an invitation to color, texture and form, a reflection of her lifelong love for nature and her fascination with the world's diverse tapestry of cultures.
