Handprint on My Heart
Trisha Spice
Quote From Artist: "The latest series of Look Up paintings came to be after a hard season in which my spirit was drained and my creative practice halted. Having taken some time off, I was just getting back into the studio again when I was asked to participate in a benefit concert. I am certainly no musician! But the idea of bringing all of the fine arts together to help a beloved teacher in need was something I could get behind. I decided to donate a painting I would finish live alongside the orchestra on stage and then auctioned off. The piece was designed with vibrant, lively colors and I also incorporated sheet music from the concert into the painting. On the evening of the event sharing a stage with the orchestra and vocalists, feeling the vibrations of all the different instrument's music move through me as I painted is something I will never forget. All of it was unforgettable really; a crew of artists all bringing our talents together to help a friend, the generosity and energy of my community......It lit a spark in me. The work that has followed this experience is more playful with color, includes bits of sheet music from songs that inspire me and conveys a sense of wonder, liveliness, and love."

About the Artist
Trisha Spice
Trisha is a painter who captures the essence of nature through her travels and translates it onto canvas. Inspired by her childhood exploring the Northwoods of Wisconsin and the Outer Banks of North Carolina, her work reflects a lifelong love of adventure and discovery.
Trisha's artistic journey began young with painting cartoons on her bedroom walls, which blossomed into creating whimsical murals for children's spaces. After raising a family, she returned to her artistic passion in 2018, fueled by a commission to paint a large mural for her children's elementary school library.
Today Trisha continues to explore the world, finding inspiration for her art whether hiking or skiing in the woods, or soaking up the sun on a beach with her family. Back in her home studio she translates these experiences into vibrant paintings a full-time artist.
