Cheryl Mocadlo
Often mistaken for oils, Cheryl Mocadlo's acrylic paintings are known for their visual aesthetic - life-like imagery and rich color palette. She enjoys celebrating nature’s beauty, hence her partiality to landscapes and organics. By layering pigments with varying degrees of opacity and a range of application techniques, Mocadlo achieves a depth of color that creates interest and movement. For her, the most exciting part of painting is the moment when the canvas comes to life - no longer a two-dimensional image, but a destination to walk into or an object to reach out and hold her hand.

About the Artist
Cheryl Mocadlo
Cheryl has been painting for more than forty years, exhibiting in art shows, galleries, fundraisers and public spaces throughout Wisconsin and beyond. Her work was first exhibited and awarded in the annual student art exhibition at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. Although Mocadlo’s life veered in a different direction, she continued painting while balancing motherhood and a career in innovation. Now at a different stage in life, she enjoys having time to focus on her passion. When she’s not in her studio, you’ll likely find her gardening, listening to music, traveling or a combination of these - always keeping an eye open for a future painting.
