Rasberry Petunia Bird Bath Bowl
Sharon Miller-Thompson
All bowls are handcrafted of terra cotta clay. Hand glazing and firing creates variations in color that enhance the unique qualities of each piece. Glazes used are food safe for humans and animals. Bowls can be safely cleaned in the dishwasher. Crazing may develop in the glaze over time. This is a natural characteristic of the glaze and it will not adversely affect the bowl’s usefulness. Bowls should be kept from freezing to prevent cracking. Each bowl is made with three small feet on the bottom so that they can become a stable serving bowl or centerpiece inside the home, when not used as a birdbath.
Base and bowl are sold seperately
Dimensions: 16" x 4"
About the Artist
Sharon Miller-Thompson
A lifelong artist Sharon has worked in many media over the decades.
“I am am most inspired to create functional artwork that tells a story through the materials, possibly clay, glass, steel, copper and often found objects.”
Metal working and custom ironwork were added to Sharon’s art “tool box” in 2000, allowing her to really mix a variety of different art media together in a single piece.
Both Minnesota natives, Sharon and her husband, Steve, share their century old home in St. Paul with their 2 dogs, Marlowe and Dickens. The house also serves as headquarters for Yardly Art studios, with both dogs overseeing most Yardly Art daily operations.
Sharon received a BA in Fine Art from Macalester College, an MS from Winona State University, and has taken many welding classes at St. Paul College.
