Sailing Off Into Sunset II
Kristin Ellis
Kellie Hanson sees each unique sheet of glass as a material waiting to be transformed. Special tools are used to cut each piece of glass to fit into the artwork like a puzzle. She enjoys playing with color, mixing, and adding different textures to influence the eye. The materials she uses are glass, tiles, mirror, beads, old and new china, and found objects. Every piece of glass is placed one by one to create something colorful and beautiful. Her artwork evokes a happy quality to those who see it.

About the Artist
Kristin Ellis
Kristin Ellis discovered mosaics while on a trip to Door County in the summer of 2018. She created a mosaic table - which still is enjoyed in her garden. Ellis has joined several artist guilds and has shown her work in shows in the midwest and on both coasts. Ellis' work has been collected all over the country. She enjoys creating floral works based on Wisconsin flowers. This past year, she started adding blown glass stringers used for the stems of her flowers. She enjoys shopping for unique stained glass and has found a glassblower in Washington who creates small batch stained glass. Ellis enjoys spending time out doors with her family and is most excited about an upcoming trip to Ireland in August. She hopes to find some new inspiration.
