Rivers of dichroic and iridized glass highlighted with gold pen work shimmer across this colorful bowl. After creating a design from tiny pieces of glass, the artist fuses and slums them in a kiln to form a sculptural shape.

About the Artist

Karen Ehart
Born in the pacific northwest to a family who valued and encouraged artistic expression and craftsmanship, Karen Ehart's work reflects more than 36 years of creative experimentation. She enjoys working with glass as well as a variety of materials including bronze, steel, and clay. In 1984, she picked up a glass cutter and was ruined for any real job. She has been quite the rolling stone and now resides in Washington state; Ehart has found much to influence her work in each place.
