Sue Pruss
Sue Pruss totally looses all sense of time when immersed in her glass studio. She’ll look at a beautiful new sheet of glass and begin to imagine. Sometimes the texture or pattern ‘tells’ her what to create. Other times, it’s the blending of colors. But the most rewarding aspect of all, is the organic approach she takes in her creations.
Sue Pruss loves creating these one of a kind creations. Pictures just don't capture how the light reflects off of each hand cut piece of glass. Pruss cuts each strip only 3/8" in width and then turns each piece on it's side in order to capture and reflect the light that passes over and through the transparent glass. Balancing and creating each piece is challenging and rewarding at the same time.

About the Artist
Sue Pruss
Trained and inspired by local Door County glass artists, Sue's passion was hidden for 60 years. It wasn't until retirement when she dabbled a bit in different art mediums that she found her true passion, transforming glass into art. Pruss loves creating colorful kiln-formed landscapes with an emphasis on flowers and trees. She carefully hand cuts each petal or tree branch while organically creating her next art piece. Once her basic design is complete, the piece may undergo multiple kiln firings until the desired effect is created. Her passion for nature shows through in her one-of-a-kind creations.
