Long Stem Daffodil
Philip Khaylo - Glass by Iness
A gorgeous hand made blue glass daffodil made in L'viv, Ukraine! Made using traditional lampworking techniques, where a master artisan uses hand tools to manipulate colored glass rods under a 700+ degree flame. The flower head is approximately 3-4 inches wide and is 11-13 inches long. 5 blue petals surround a yellow trumpet (corona) which protrudes about an inch beyond the petals. The leaf is connected to the stem about 2-3 inches from the bottom, and the movement is due to slack, so don't be alarmed if it moves. Very detailed and beautiful glass flower made by hand with lots of love.
About the Artist
Philip Khaylo - Glass by Iness
"We make the glass, we blow the glass, we paint the glass... All with LOVE" -Philip Khaylo
Philip Khaylo was born in the Ukraine and grew up in New York. His parents left Ukraine in the late 80's and the rest of his family followed a few years later. Some went to America and some went to Germany and in the late 90's one of them purchased a very well known vase manufacturer. Needing to make a smaller product due to lack of space for inventory, my uncle decided that they would start making candle holders and Christmas ornaments. A few years later, they added lamp-working artisans. What started small over 20 years ago has grown into one of the best and biggest creators of blown glass art in Europe.
